Win tickets to this year’s sold out V Festival

Quite nice little viral, not much of a game as such, but interesting for us here at Fire Island for the choice of graphic style and employing those little musical characters.

Following some discussion over at Mashable, we’ve set up a petition to encourage MySpace to consider a “Certified Safe Widget Developer” program. It may be a long-shot (I once waited 22 days for them to respond to a support request), but surely we have to try?

Please forward it to everyone in the community that you know and encourage them to sign. If we can rally enough people behind this we may get MySpace to make some concessions to a really important sub-economy that has emerged out of all this Web 2.0 malarkey.

Also, is anyone interested in collaborating on building a community site to raise awareness about the issue and to aggregate discussion and action towards overcoming it? After all, there’s strength in numbers…

Channel 4 have added a few new “exploding four” idents to their line-up, one of which is this music festival stage where the speaker stacks become the 4…

MTV has unveiled an interactive TV service which will enable viewers to have the ultimate say in what appears on the music channel.

MTV Flux will launch a website on 1st August enabling viewers to adopt an animated figure which will represent their online presence. Users who accrue the most on-screen time will have a greater influence in deciding the channel’s running order. 

The television service is expected to launch in September.

So have MTV jumped on the Social Networking bandwagon to improve there market placement or are they after a piece of the MySpace pie? Let’s see what happens, they could be too late.

After a long search I’ve finally found my new home, a 1993 LDV 400 campervan. She’s done 85,000 miles has exceptionally tidy bodywork and I picked it up for £875 fully converted with all the bits and pieces. I moved in last Wednesday and am now living in it full-time.

I just got wireless broadband installed today (big thanks to Chris at Turboweb) so I can work and blog and generally keep in touch with everyone from the road.

Upcoming modifications include adding a solar panel and a wood burning stove, which is going to be essential in the winter.

I’m reluctantly selling my six month old Canon 350D camera with two excellent Sigma lenses, Canon flash unit, Lowepro Slingshot rucksack and loads of extras. Need to raise some much needed funds. The Buy it Now price is £999, which is an absolute bargain, so get along to eBay and bid for it.

Who knew? I’ve just discovered there is a Fire Island in New York and apparently they’ve got wicked surf…
